Jamie Delaine Workshop | A Thank You & A Recap

About the day:

The full day workshop took place at Jamie’s delightful studio which is tucked away in the very quaint Fort Langley, BC. Jamie arranged for delicious breakfast and lunch catered by Wendell’s cafe. Not a detail of the day went without great care and attention. In fact, fresh floral center pieces were placed on each table and these were created by Balconi floral studio. Jamie started the day by sharing her dreams and providing us with tools for creating our very own. She generously provided each of us with black Moleskin notebooks to help get us started as well as dark Mink Chocolate to help keep us going. She discussed providing amazing customer care, managing our time, and how to actually get things done. Jamie shared her favorite business reads, including Linchpin and Tribes by Seth Godin, as well as her preferred photo programs (like photo mechanic), and details about her work flow. She brought in her best friend Leanne and Leanne’s boyfriend, Sam, to model an amazing “hippie chic” photo session. Fantastic make-up was provided by Kristie Lee. Jamie walked us through her client interactions, posing, how she shoots and even her editing. She also gave us a chance to capture some images to share on our own blogs. To say this was a lot of information and also extremely generous would be an understatement. The day ended with a delicious group dinner at Beatniks. To pull it off Jamie also had the help of an awesome gal and her dear friend Candace. Thank you Candace. I made 17 new fabulous photographer friends that are so cute I could pinch their cheeks and hang out with them any day of the week. Can’t wait to get to know you all more as we grow together!! A huge thank you to everyone and all the vendors that helped make Monday amazing!!

Finally, I wanted to write a special thank you to Jamie. Here it goes…

Dear Jamie Delaine,

It’s hard to know where to start when it comes to expressing the thanks I have for all of your efforts this past weekend at your amazing workshop. I can say without question that your workshop was one of the most informative and fun workshops I have attended. Ever. You unloaded your wisdom without hesitation and with full confidence and transparency. You did this in a way that was warm and friendly, thereby creating a wonderful learning environment. Your authentic desire to see each participant grow and succeed was not only obvious but also admirable. You taught me to dream big – and not simply for just myself – but for the purpose of giving back to others, my community, and beyond. You are brilliant and beautiful and I thank you for everything that you are and all that you do for others, and all that you will continue to do to make this world a better place.

Love Lyndsay
