Joey & Tara – Granville Island Engagement

Joey and Tara were a delight to spend a sunny Sunday with. Their engagement photo session has been much anticipated by Tara, who has been fearing the chance of rain on her e-session at Granville Island since we scheduled it back in October! She was quite obviously thrilled that there wasn’t a drop of rain for miles as we made our way through the alleys and streets of the art district. I was too! But even if there was a bit of rain, I know she would have been a trooper and not let that get in the way of us having fun.

Joey and Tara became close friends before Tara finally agreed to be more than friends with Joey. I’m thinking she is glad she did. After a short while they both knew that spending their lives together was meant to be. As Tara says “when you know, you know.” I completely agree. Joey managed to pull off a surprise proposal, with the help of family and one of Tara’s soon to be bridesmaids, that included a limo ride and a surprise trip to Mexico. Yes. Mexico. What a dream come true! I’m totally jealous. I love to get my Mexico on!

Tara and Joey seem to be at such ease with each other. They laughed constantly during the session and had no reservations about lying on the cement or sitting on my home made bum bags (this is plastic cut into the shape of a bum to protect the bottom from the yucky stuff I ask clients to sit in). I love that about them. Tara’s dad also made a beautiful wood “thank you” sign for them to use. It was super fun to add in. Thanks to Tara’s dad!!

I tell ya, Joey is a great guy. And Tara is a great girl. When two great people get together, they make the world a better place. I loved working with them and I can’t wait to shoot their Coquitlam wedding in September.

You can find their engagement slideshow by clicking on the link or by scrolling to the bottom of the post.

Tara and Joey did a quick outfit change. I love bicycles and purple in the morning.

These are Joey and Tara’s best fish kiss faces. I approve.Hearts, stars and lucky charms, do I ever like this one.
