Judy and Dominique were married this past Saturday at The Chapel in Stanley Park. Judy and Dominique wanted a simple yet elegant wedding where close friends and family could gather for an afternoon of speeches, good food, and fun. Judy envisioned deep red roses for her December Vancouver wedding, paired with accents of whites and ivories.
The morning started with getting ready photos at the Sutton Place hotel in Vancouver. It was still dark outside when I arrived but Judy, her bridesmaid Terra, and Jayna Marie (the lovely hair and make-up artist) were lively as they had already been up for hours. Terra and Judy shared with me that they had been up chatting since 3:30 am. Judy was literally bursting with excitement. After some shots of the girls and the details, Mehrshid, of Sunflower Florist, arrived with a bouquet of fresh red roses. The wedding flowers were just beautiful. Next, I hurried upstairs to grab a few shots of Dominique getting ready with his brother and best man, Joseph.
The ceremony was held bright and early at 10:00am. Allan, the officiant, had guests laughing at the intimate wedding ceremony and Judy and Dominique looked at each other while they said their vows like two seriously smitten teenagers. After the ceremony the bridal party and I took photos in Stanley Park. It was rather chilly – with the temperature hovering around 1 degree that morning. But, you really can’t tell how cold it felt because everyone was a total trooper and made the choice to have fun and enjoy the portraits. Judy and Dominique were totally relaxed together and made the portraits a breeze!
The wedding reception took place at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. In a cozy private room, decorated with roses, beautiful speeches were given and a brilliant lunch was served. Judy and Dominique shared their thanks and encouraged guests to enjoy the photobooth on site. It was a lovely afternoon.
Judy and Dominique have already departed for their Hawaiian honeymoon. I hope you are both enjoying warm sunshine and sandy beaches during your first week as husband and wife. You are truly lovely people and fully deserve a nice getaway. Thank you for having Adam and I document your wedding day. It was such a pleasure to work with you and we wish you tremendous love, health and happiness in your new lives together!
