New Westminster Portraits | Kelly & Matt (Part I)

Yesterday, I met with the lovely Kelly and her hubby Matt for some fabulous winter portraits. We weren’t expecting snow at all but alas it did snow over night. Kelly had a picnic planned so we used the gazebo in the park. I love the way it turned out!

Kelly is also a photographer so she came well prepared for the session. She collected several simple props to create a unique setting and planned the outfits perfectly with pops of colour and lots of accessories.

Because there were so many photos to choose from, I decided to post this session two parts. After halfway through the session, Matt and Kelly did a quick outfit change. Kelly was brave enough to wear a fun cocktail dress. So stay tuned for that set of photos later this week.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Matt & Lisa won second place in the contest I ran in January. Lisa and Matt are dear friends. We shot their session at SFU Burnaby where we all first met.

Sherrie & Ben (and Faye) came super pumped and prepared for their Garry Point Engagement in Richmond. A few new features are on the way for this session.

Aimee & Dave (and Gracie) also had a Simon Fraser University engagement session. It rained like no other session I’ve had to date. Winnie & Jeff were as cute as buttons. We shot their session on a rainy Saturday at UBC. Steve & Nicole were married on the island this summer. I shot their engagement session at Jericho Beach. They were lovely and totally prepared with awesome props.Sarah & Andrew (aka the hottest couple in all the lands) had a champagne engagement session fight on Jericho Beach in Vancouver.Another rainy session – this time Val & Terrence braved the wet in downtown Vancouver for their engagement session.Laura & Rob (and Baxter), two/three of our best friends, had their maternity session in their beautiful Vancouver home. Andrea & James were a dream couple to work with. Lovely people with so much in common. I think of them as friends first and foremost.Sepi & Pooyan‘s engagement session took place at the Rose Garden in Stanley Park. Sepi is such a stunner. The session was featured on WeddingsInBC.com. A first for me.Mel & Jon won the contest in January with more than 200 votes for their photo entry. Their unconventional session was later featured on WeddingsInBC.com.Leanne & Sam modelled for Jamie Delaine‘s workshop that I attended in June. Julie & Jae’s engagement session was held at sunset in Langley. This was part II of their session which was later featured on four or more wedding sites including La Belle Bride & Wedding Obsession.Steph & Tyler’s North Vancouver engagement was an absolute joy. I fell in love with Steph’s beauty both inside and out!Robbie & Chels were a bit reluctant to do the engagement session but turns out it was easy breezy and we had lots of laughs and became quick friends.

Another Jericho Beach Vancouver engagement session – this time it was Olga & Tim. Their session was featured on Shimmer + Silk. This was Part I of Julie & Jae’s engagement. It was featured just one day after I took the photos on Bowties and Bliss. Boom. Dominique and Judy’s Queen Elizabeth Park engagement was summer sweet. Mags & Haydex fell in love with Julie and Jae’s engagement session and booked me in a matter of days. Maggie and I are so much alike in the things we like it’s scary. The session was featured nationally on WeddingsInBC.com (Lauren says Maggie is one of the most beautiful women she has ever seen) and also later on Done BrilliantlyJustyna & Steve are dear friends of Rebecca Sehn. I’m still scratching my head over how it came to be that I get to shoot their 2012 wedding!!
Erik & Smita are so fabulous it hurts. We frolicked in sunshine at the end of October and I love the results!Erika & Malcolm had their one year anniversary session in Penticton. Erika and I became fast friends at the Jamie Delaine Workshop in June. Their session became a 2011 favourite of mine.
