Aimee & Dave | Burnaby Mountain Engagement

On Saturday, I met Aimee, Dave, and Gracie (their Great Dane furbaby) at SFU Burnaby for some engagement photos out of the rain. This was our back-up plan location, but it turned out stupendously as Dave did his degree at the Burnaby Campus. I’ve done a few shoots on the mountain in the last few months so I also wanted to pop down to Burnaby Mountain Park at the end of the shoot to mix it up a little and get more of a woodsy feel that Aimee wanted for her beautiful wedding invitations. She is going to create gorgeous booklet style invitations featuring images from the shoot. Nice right? Because this was her goal, we shot a lot of the images in portrait style images (like up and down). I tend to do fewer of these than landscape, so it was a fun challenge to get background settings and poses that suit the portrait style photo.

Anyways, when we got to the park, we were only outside for a few minutes before we were all entirely soaked! The rain was coming down like dogs the size of Gracie. You can actually see big raindrops coming down and Aimee’s soaking hair in the slideshow and final blog image. Aimee and Dave were great sports about it all. I love that about them. I like to think that good people find their way to me and it is magical, rain and all.

To me the feel of this engagement session is very chill and romantic. I noticed that Aimee and Dave have a lot of love for each other (okay that’s obvious since they are getting married in August) and they are ALSO very comfortable with each other and showing off their love for the camera.

Enjoy the post and the engagement slideshow!
