Mel and Jon are pretty cool people. I reallly like them. You will too. But for now, here is a sneak peek for you! Lots more to come SOON :).

Hycroft Vancouver Wedding Photography | Terrence & Val

The Vancouver wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Hycroft Manor, an Edwardian mansion built in 1911. A cool fact is that the manor was celebrating its 100 years at the time of Val and Terrence’s wedding.

We started with some getting ready shots in downtown Vancouver, then jumped on an aqua bus that escorted the girls and I to Granville Island where Terrence patiently awaited the arrival of his bride to be for the first look and portraits. Afterward we headed to the manor where we had some time for fun shots of the guys and pretty shots of the girls getting ready. Finally, the afternoon wedding ceremony took place  indoors in the cozy main room followed by intimate portraits of the bride and groom and then a cocktail reception and some dancing.

The story of their engagement is as sweet as you can imagine. Terrence and Valery regularly surprise each other with concerts, shows, dinners, and so on. In December 2009, Terrence brought Valery to see Brett Dennen live, a musician that they both enjoy. By the time the day in question rolled around, Valery had her suspicions about Terrence’s intentions. However, Terrence was very careful to keep his surprise a secret; keeping it pretty much to himself. I bet he was bursting inside with excitement! After an extravagant evening of fun and surprises, Terrence pulled out his handkerchief and set it on the ground, announcing that he would show Valery a magic trick. He then knelt down on one knee and asked Valery to marry him, offering her a beautiful princess-cut solitaire diamond in a white gold band. The story is so true to them. I am honoured to have been a part of their day.

The ceremony had a special locket ceremony; lots of laughs and tears of joy too. The manor was just exquisite. As we were leaving at the end of the night (after many hugs with Val and Terrence – it was REALLY hard to leave!!!) Adam was so over the moon with the venue that he said he wouldn’t have minded marrying me there too. That was cute.

Val and Terrence created many of the details on their own. Props to them for their creativity and efforts. I love all the peacock feather details and rich colours. Mwah! Marvelous.

I’m pretty excited to share this post – it’s a little long but worth the time if I do say so myself. Thank you so much Val and Terrence for sharing your day with me and me peeps. It was such a pleasure.

P.S. Check out the wedding day slideshow at the bottom of the post for lots more photos of the fantastic wedding day.

During the getting ready, Val and I stood on the balcony as she took in some fresh air. Val then turned to me with her big baby blue eyes and soft sweet smile said “Lyndsay, I feel like I am bungie jumping… yet my feet are right here on the ground.” I will never forget how Val made me feel in this moment. My heart was over flowing.

We then grabbed an Aquabus to Granville Island. They arranged for a special boat just for Val.

Finally, the first look. Terrence’s face: Priceless!Shanna shot the groom and his boys. They had a great time. Thank you Shanna :).
While Shanna shot the boys, I shot the girls. It was freakin’ awesome.
